PRETTY OVER
COLLEGE
“Pretty Over College” is a three-track EP created as my major project for university. The concept of the EP revolves around capturing specific places and memories from my time on campus. Each song is a reflection of a particular location at the university, evoking the emotional and experiential essence of those spaces.
While the project was primarily executed as a solo endeavor, it included collaborative elements in alignment with project requirements, allowing me to work with creatives from other disciplines.
I was fully responsible for the creation and development of the EP. My key responsibilities included:
COMPOSITION
Wrote, composed, and structured each song to convey a narrative tied to a specific place or memory on campus.
CREATIVE DIRECTION
Led the visual and promotional aspects of the project, working with graphic designers and videographers to develop cover art, social med videos, and concept merch.
Provided oversight to ensure all materials aligned with the EP’s conceptual theme.
PRODUCTION
Executed the complete production pipeline from recording and instrumentation to mixing, mastering, and final audio polishing.
HOW IT TURNED OUT
It garnered positive feedback from both the university community and the wider audience. The EP’s unique geocache-style soft release generated buzz on campus, encouraging participants to explore, interact, and connect with each other while discovering the music. This innovative approach not only set the project apart but also helped build a sense of community and engagement.
The soft launch was followed by a digital release on all major streaming platforms, expanding the EP’s reach and further solidifying its impact in the local
music scene.
